Adelaide

Hello there! I'm Rachel Loye from Adelaide, I started with The Fundraising People in May 2012. Since then I have become a team leader, and I love the job. It's so rewarding and the people are great!
Before starting with The Fundraising People I was a bum sitting around at home in pyjamas watching tv... Just kidding
I've raised more money than I ever thought possible for Cancer Council SA. I've learnt so much in the past 4 months about fundraising and myself and feel I've grown so much as a person because of this job.
What I love about Cancer Council SA is that they don't concentrate on only one type of cancer or one demographic they include everyone. Their services are amazing as well. I especially love the free accommodation for country patients as some friends of mine have used them, and not only are they free, the create an amazing community for the patients in their time of need.
The Fundraising People are amazing as well, they've given me opportunities to see more of my country and my city. I've met so many interesting people too, every single one of us is our own type of weird but I love it! I can't wait to meet more people and have more amazing experiences! Peace out dudes

Hi my name is Kate. I am from Canada and I have an extensive academic background and past experience with charities and fundraising. I joined The Fundraising People in November 2011 as a new fundraiser. I became a team leader after observing The Fundraising People’s ability to generate real results for great charities within a positive, supportive work culture. Currently I am enjoying fundraising in New South Wales and I am saving for a long trip travelling Southeast Asia!

I love all of the characters I meet on the streets. They all have such amazing stories to tell. I love being part of a team and having fun with my team mates, while at the same time still making a difference.

Working on a charity knowing that I can help so many women fight the battle against breast cancer makes me immensely proud to work for NBCF. Having many female friends and family, I was shocked to learn that 1 in 9 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and 8 women die from it every single day. I also love the pink shirts!

A couple of weeks ago I had a woman approach me asking me what I was doing. When I explained to her that I was fundraising for NBCF she asked to get her name down for a regular donation straight away. The woman then explained that she was visiting her three aunties that all had breast cancer. I was extremely inspired by this woman, the kindness and generosity she showed made me realize how worthwhile and fulfilling my job is and what a fantastic cause NBCF is.

Hi my name is Lauren and I have been working for TFP in Adelaide since March 2012 and I am enjoying every moment of it. Face to Face fundraising is a career like no other, working alongside passionate, like-minded individuals; you have the ability to motivate people to make a real difference to the lives of others. I am often blown away by the generosity of the public and there is no better feeling than creating a connection with a complete stranger and inspiring them to donate to charity.
I have grown up with some knowledge of Cancer Council SA, but it was not until I began working on behalf of them with The Fundraising People that I realised the amazing work that they do for those touched by cancer. On a daily basis I am out there meeting members of the public who have been affected by cancer in one way or another, and have used and are grateful for the services offered by Cancer Council SA.
The Fundraising People is an amazing company full of inspiring individuals who are fantastic to work with. Through The Fundraising People I have made many close friends from a wide variety of backgrounds, have developed a range of new skills and most importantly have found a rewarding job which I love.

My name is Cassia, I am 20 years old and from Essex, England. I got into face-to-face fundraising in February 2012 when I was recruited on the street outside Sydney Town Hall. The best thing about face-to-face fundraising work is the amazing variety of people you meet in different places and from very different walks of life.

Working for the NBCF is a very rewarding experience, especially when you meet breast cancer survivors or someone who has lost a close family member or friend to breast cancer and they are so appreciative of the work I'm doing.
Every time someone is generous enough to pledge a regular donation to NBCF it makes me feel good that we are able to make a difference in thousands of people's lives. I am passionate about funding NBCF as I lost a close family friend to breast cancer after she fought the disease for many years and sadly passed away 2 years ago. It seems everybody knows somebody who has been affected by breast cancer and nobody should have to lose their lives to this disease.

The most inspiring person I have met whilst working for NBCF was a lady from Nowra whose daughter had been born with Down Syndrome and had devastatingly been diagnosed with breast cancer. Her mother had such a positive attitude that I was instantly inspired by her amazing strength of character. She decided to pledge a regular donation to NBCF but in return for one thing…that I and everyone involved in NBCF work as hard as we can so that by 2030 no-one should lose their life to breast cancer." s
